How about we stop referring to the people who painted the hobbyist owned private airplane as climate activists and use the term for what they really are - economic terrorists. The climate crisis is so so critical to have collective action in a positive way to affect change and these morons are making a mockery of it.

I'm sure the insurance covers the damages for the privately owned airplane. Let's discuss the real issues.

How would you compare these small acts of resistance with (1) the unjustified increasing costs of energy to consumers and (2) the profits/dividend payouts of big oil in a cost of living crisis on a spectrum of economic terrorism?

This is the same group that is shutting down the city with road closures and costing thousands. Again, painting an airplane fixes what exactly? Blocking roads fixes what exactly? That is the very definition of economic terrorism. Its ok to destroy the property of other individual humans because the insurance covers it?

I agree their strategy is questionable and their protests won't achieve the outcome they seek, alas they're trying to do something at least.

Actually the very definition of economic terrorism is the secret manipulation of the economy (a very quick google search helped with that). I would argue the rising energy prices undoubtedly fall into that category.

Ethically, no I don't think destroying someone's property is okay. Financially, that's exactly why insurance exists...
