Deak IHK, you know what would reduce some of the bureacracy burden on small businesses? Not having to compulsory be a member of the IHK! Especially in the years after a business ceases to operate and goes through the Insolvenz process.
Apart from a cute magazine that gets mailed out sometimes, I don't have any experience with the IHK actually being helpful at all. I hope that someone else gets some benefit out of the €90M that the IHK spends each year.
They could start by training the Ordnungsamt to be useful for once. I was in Jannowitzbrücke a couple years ago and passed a group of guys under a stairwell or somesuch shooting up. I was distracted, and unfortunately slipped and fell in what was likely a pile of human shit in the middle of the fucking hallway. The Ordnungsamt, it turned out, was right there the entire time. I asked for help and the woman just got squeamish and ran outside. Her male partner put on gloves and helped me wipe off my jeans but neither of them did anything about the junkies or the pile of excrement.
They also seem to really enjoy following people of color around, or at least it's happened to a couple of friends.
I admittedly don't know whose job it is to handle the open hard drug use, and I wouldn't want harsh policing, but there needs to be some sort of intervention in major public areas.
For the Südkreuz -> BER Airport connection, FEX direct trains will continue. The disruption is only for S-Bahns.

That's awful. The Ordnungsamt has nothing to do with Ordnung.... The only thing they do effectively is write parking tickets.

I agree, something needs to be done with the drug use in open public areas. It's becoming really bad around where I live.
