At our S-Bahn station (Bornholmer Straße) they installed posh new escalators last year. Now they're almost constantly broken. I thought Germany was good at low-tech durable things made of metal?
Look, they broke on a Thursday. No one around to look at them until after the weekend because who really works on a friday. But first we have to talk about who's responsible. Then we're going to talk about what happened. Then we're going to talk about how to fix it and now it's August and no one's around so maybe October?

Not really, they are made by Kone a Finnish company.
What is it with things breaking down here and not being repaired?
It would drive most Germans living outside Berlin up the wall if these kind of things happened where they live.
