There is no way those BVG stats reflect reality. They must have gamed it. My experience with the buses (and less so trams) does not match up. U-bahns maybe.
And yes, I will take superficial friendliness any day over intentional rudeness and Unhöflichkeit. It is one of the things I miss about being in the U.S.
