I totally agree with your thoughts on Last Generation. Stopping traffic was perfectly inline with their message. But defacing public monuments that have nothing to do with continuing climate change and now interfering with people running a marathon is nothing but mean. The damage that was done to the Brandenburg Gate will not cost the government a large sum of money...How can needlessly increasing government spending on infrastructure or disrupting people engaging in a non polluting sport get their message across. Unless their message is that they are destructive.

You know the climate and environmental impact of huge, international sporting events like a marathon? All the travel getting there, the disposable cups and related detritus to take care of thousands of people so they can get some kind of official recognition that they exercise, and the added irony of it being sponsored by BMW.

Speaking of the car industry and sustainability, if I were an economist in Brandenburg, I wouldn’t be feeling too cocky that my growth is thanks to unpredictable Elon Musk.
